Is SOOOO very true...especially when it comes to free dental care!!!

A couple of weeks ago, my newspaper ran a article about a local dentist that was giving free dental care on December 13th for peeps that couldn't afford it. Well you know my ass was in line at 4:30 am that morning (the doors didn't open until 9am) and by the time I got there, I was number 35 in line!!! It was a balmy 22 degrees and I was numb within 15 minutes.

Well to make a long story short...it was a horrific experience to say the least. Talk about a chop shop operation...I now have first hand experience on how a cow must feel being led to the slaughter house!

This quack pulled two of my back teeth with the barest amount of novacaine possible...no antibiotics or pain meds afterwards either!! I held it together (somehow) until I made it out to the parking lot and then just totally lost it...bawled like a baby the whole way home...poor hubby was totally freaking out.

Well, I seriously believe he messed something up BIG TIME...now the tooth that was next to the two he pulled is giving me fits...didn't bother me before he worked his "magic"...voodoo magic that is. I talked to a friend that use to work for a dentist and she said he could have damaged a nerve or fractured the tooth...one thing for sure, this guy wasn't very gentle to say the least.

It sucks not having insurance! Sad

oh wow Cindy I am really sorry. You should call him and let him know. I wonder why he offered the free service? Sounds like he was not to much into. Maybe he got into some of of legal trouble and had to do some kind of Community service. Sorry had to put that last comment in there, but I really do hope you feel better soon sunny

Apparently this is his Christian/Christmas gift to the community. The paper said he has done this around Christmas time for the last 13 years, although I had never heard about it to this year.

One thing for sure...he got TONS of free publicity out of it...two articles in the paper and on our local news. Funny thing is, that all the peeps interviewed was the "before" and not the "after" the procedure peeps. One thing for sure is it is a good thing they didn't try to interview me after the procedure...the interview would have never made the news ...every other word would have been obscene...although they would have had to caption what I was saying at the bottom of the screen for anyone to understand the obscenties...all the guaze, swelling and crying would have hampered anyone from understanding me!

That is really awful that he would offer his services but not treat the patients as he would his paying clients. At least I hope that is not how he treats all his clients!

I am sorry to hear that you are having other problems now. I would certainly call his office or see if anyone else had the same problem.

I have to say when it comes to the dentist I am the biggest chicken ever. I would have passed out cold! I shake and almost get sick when I go to the dentist knowing that he will be sure to give me extra novicane! (He knows I am scared to death of him.)
